When first starting out, I would get so nervous at meet & greets! What if the client didn’t like me, I get tongue tied or forget something... all these thoughts would end up giving me the tummy twists before a meeting.
Now that I've been doing them for a while, I’ve mostly learned to relax! I do still sometimes get the twists a little, but I remind myself that it’s alllll about your pets and how I can help you feel safe and secure while you’re away or needing an extra hand. They’ve become one of my favourite parts of the job!

Firstly, Why are they important?
Meet & Greets help make sure we’re a great fit before agreeing to walks or pet sitting.
It’s a chance for me to get to know you, your pet(s), and for you to get to know me! It makes sure that we all feel safe and secure knowing your pet will get the best care suited to their needs, with someone who really “gets” them.
Where will it take place?
Usually, a Meet & Greet will take place at your home, where your pets are. If we are both happy and decide to move forward, this also gives us the chance to go over important bits like access and where their food/treats/poo bags are etc.
For dog walking, we can go for a short walk before you decide if you’d like to invite me into your home to discuss the arrangements further. Keep reading for more on this!
How long will it be?
A Meet & Greet can last anywhere between 30-60 minutes.
This depends on all sorts of factors, including whether we go for a dog walk first (if applicable), how many questions you have for me, and how long it takes to go through my questions for you and your pet!
A Meet & Greet walk
For dog walking arrangements, stepping out for a quick walk together can be a great way to break the ice!
This also allows me to get an idea of how your dog behaves on walks and interacts with you, other people, and dogs when out and about.
I’ll watch you walk your pup and then, toward the end, I’ll walk with them for a bit to see how they are with me. If we’re all happy, it would then be lovely to fully discuss the arrangements in the comfort of your home.
Your Pets
One of the most important parts of the Meet & Greet is for me to meet your pets.
This is to make sure that your pet feels comfortable with me and that I also feel comfortable with your pet!
For me, this is honestly the most exciting part as I love getting to know your fur family members 🥰. It’s why I do what I do!
What will we talk about?
Each meet will be as unique as your pets. But generally, I’ll ask you questions such as (but not limited to):
- Your pets personality
- Their temperament
- Their health needs
- Their routine
- Confirm your walk or sitting requirements (i.e dates, times, frequency etc.)
- Access needs
The Formalities
If we’re all happy with the arrangements and one another, it’s time to formalise the agreement!
If you are ready to make the decision there and then, I’ll go through the form and ask you to sign some T&Cs to make sure we’re all on the same page.
If you need to go away and let me know, that’s fine too! I can send the form over to you via WhatsApp or email when you’re ready.
I can’t wait to meet you and your fur family! 🥰
